Dr. Nijjar has received numerous research awards from the American Headache Society (AHS), American Society of Neuroimaging, the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR), Canadian Headache Society, Canadian Pain Society and the University of Manitoba.     Dr. Nijjar completed his Bachelor of Science (Honours) at the University of Prince Edward Island, with his major in Biology. He thereafter completed medical school at the University of Toronto.

    Following medical school, Dr. Nijjar pursued his residency training in neurology at the University of Manitoba.

  • FELLOWSHIP IN HEADACHE MEDICINE
    Following his residency, Dr. Nijjar completed his fellowship in Headache Medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital, University of Toronto.

    Dr. Nijjar’s clinical experience spans over many years. As a neurologist he has been academically appointed as an Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba, Departments of Neurology and Anesthesiology, and at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery. He has had hospital appointments at the Health Sciences Centre, St. Boniface Hospital, Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. He has also had hospital appointments at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and Mount Sinai Hospital (Toronto).
